Brooko's Forge Miniature Forge & Finishing

Commission slots are open

Vanquish the pile of shame.

Commission miniature painting in Swindon, and by post across the UK. Warhammer 40,000, Age of Sigmar, Shatterpoint and more, taken from bare grey plastic to Battle Ready, Battle Ready Plus+ or full Display standard.

Painted by Chris, one bench, one pair of hands. Every model that leaves here is one I would be happy to put in my own cabinet.

Three finish standards

The three standards

One model. Three ways to finish it.

Same Space Marine, same bench, photographed at each standard so you can see exactly what you are paying for. Pick a standard, then pick a model type to see the guide price.

Space Marine painted to Battle Ready standard: base coat, simple highlights and a shade Space Marine painted to Battle Ready Plus+ standard, with more detailed highlights and shades Space Marine painted to Display standard, with detailed layering, blending and glazing

Battle Ready

Photographed by Chris. Same model at each stage, no lighting tricks between shots.

Battle Ready

A base coat, simple highlights and a shade, picking out the main details. The standard that gets an army off the shelf and onto the table looking like it belongs there.

£10 per model, guide price

Add £2 per model if you would like it assembled and primed too.

Grey is not a colour. Grey is a waiting list.

    The man at the bench

    Hello, I'm Chris.

I started Warhammer as a teenager, then took the long leave of absence most of us take. About ten years ago my son wandered into the local Warhammer store and that was that, I was hooked again.

Since then I have painted most 40k factions. The boys in blue have always been my main army, though I am deep in an Aeldari project at the moment. I sit on the committee of my local tabletop group, the Brunel Knights, and painted the terrain the club plays on.

It matters to me that your models come back looking like someone cared about them. Because I did.

    Not just 40k

    Systems I take commissions for

    • Warhammer 40,000
    • Age of Sigmar
    • Horus Heresy
    • Blood Bowl
    • Star Wars: Shatterpoint
    • Star Wars: Legion
    • Marvel Crisis Protocol
    • Necromunda
    • Kill Team

Painting something that is not on this list? Ask anyway. My own cabinet is a very mixed place and I like a new challenge.

Compared to other professional painters, it's a relief to have a local guy who not only doesn't charge an arm and a leg, he also supports payment plans to help ease the burden of bigger projects.

It's quite obvious to see the passion that is put into every project, and as a customer I am always asked about specifics where they become relevant. I'll be using this service for a foreseeable future.

    How it works

    1. Tell me what you have

Message me with what you want painting, the standard you are after and any scheme you have in mind. Photos help.

    2. I quote it properly

A firm price and a realistic window, not a number plucked out of the air. Payment plans on bigger projects.

    3. Drop off or post

Local to Swindon? Hand them over. Anywhere else in the UK, send them by post.

    4. Progress as I go

Work in progress pictures along the way, so nothing at the end is a surprise.

Send the grey plastic my way.

Tell me what is sitting in the box and what you want it to look like. I will come back with a real price and an honest timescale.
